RE: New TV break-in

You'd better start driving.
I was a hundred and fifty miles short on the day I was scheduled to pick my trailer up. I did laps around the 210/10/60 until I hit 500.

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

so is it a matter of "when" not "if" we are going to have problems with our WW? We have an '04 FS2600 and have not had any problems with it. We just got back from a 2400 mile trip and while we had a few minor things happen, nothing major. The more I read these posts, the more I worry about the quality of my trailer.
I would love to see the percentage of people that actually had problems. I would bet that it is very low (in the lower half of all trailer brands). I really doubt that you are going to start having problems.
What were your minor problems during your long trip?
I am about to buy an FS2600. I think it is a great size and a great design. The used ones certainly have held their value well.
Andrew
It's far from scientific, but the failure rate within my circle of friends has been alarmingly high. Off the top of my head, I can think of three friends (plus myself) with failures ranging from "serious" to "catastrophic". Mine and one other (Quadhauler) was on an '04 FS2600. I think Buford's is the same style, but larger (FS2800?). There's one more if you count Motoboot's!
I haven't seen any similar problems with other trailer brands since the Gearbox delamination four years or so ago.
My trailer is in the shop again today re-repairing the brake wiring that WW installed incorrectly when they replaced my axles. They reimbursed me for the first rewire. I'm on my own for this one.
We still love this trailer. I'll do what I have to to keep it running. Last night I repaired the wiring to the XM receiver and the outdoor speakers (WW snipped all the old wiring when they replaced the stereo).
I'm glad to hear yours is holding together well. Keep enjoying it!!!
Just to add a little balance:
Other then a cosmetic issue with the rear cap that was handled under warranty, my WW has been near perfect.
Very cool. That's how it should be.

RE: Anyone that can help move my trailer in Temecula

Wow Bill - I'm sorry to hear about your truck. Who'd have thought a big TV would be a target for theft in this market?
I wonder if your auto insurance would pay for a tow? Check your policy for your truck and your trailer and see what your towing coverage is. A lot of policies are surprisingly liberal with tow bills.
Good luck with the replacement.

RE: Any haulers visit Glacier NP lately?

Don't forget the extra charges for the large Campfires Dave seems to make Everywhere he goes...
One of my favorite moments from our last trip to Zion was when the kid in the pool yelled out, "Hey Mister, you gonna have one of those big fires again tonight?"

Extra big fires = priceless!
Dave: Excuse me Ma'am do you sell Sobe her?
KOA: Yes we do
Dave: Do you sell gasoline?
KOA: Sorry, down the street 3 blocks
Dave: Oh that's ok I have a fuel station
Moments later...
KOA: Excuse me Sir, what does Sobe and Gasoline have to do with each other?
Dave: Grinning
Large Explosion, KOA lady looses eyebrows, yellow shirt is now light singed brown, plume of flame and smoke fill the sky over Dave's campsite.

Dave: S-O-B-E - Its how we spell Campfire in California!
:B:B:B:B
They sell SoBe up there in WA too, don't they? I know you couldn't do SoBes in Oregon, because you'd have to pay a minimum wage kid to fill the bottle for you.

There's a prominent member here, Racorman, who had a bunch of toys stolen from his camp (his or his in-laws?). He'll probably chime in with a first-hand account for you.

RE: WW Repairs

I don't know much about how these lawsuits work, but don't the lawyers only get paid on the basis of the claims that are settled?
No WW, no repairs.
No repairs, no individual settlements.
No settlements, no $$$ for the sharks.
Is that scenario correct? Hope so.

RE: WW Repairs

So this thread has spiraled around and around since I started it back in Dec.
I'm curious to know how many members have had their trailers fixed as part of the class action?
I assume the lawyers have folded up their tents and gone home now that there's no manufacturer left to bilk? Is that correct? Is the class action effort kaput now?

Any haulers visit Glacier NP lately?

We're going up to Montana next week. We're not taking any toys, just the trailer. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay up there?
We're going to try to blast up there in two days. Google Maps shows it as a 20 hour drive from LA. My wife wants me to tackle a big chunk of that on the first day, so that means maybe Pocatello, ID, for the first night? That's a big drive from home. I hope nobody has to pee.
So where are the good spots to camp near the park? I'd like a campground that's fun for the kids if possible (pool, etc.). My pop always did his best to find us kids camp spots that AAA listed as having a pool and pinball.
We're also thinking about doing a whitewater rafting day trip. Any recommendations?

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

I heard about WW….ALSO, there are others in the RV business that have filed BK in the last 3 weeks. But…I have not had any problem with service. I contacted Beaudry RV (only because they are a WW dealer in Tucson) and got my stuff scheduled right away. I also have a Class A Motorhome…. I am more worried about that warranty info that than a toyhauler, myself! The toyhauler has warranty from Onan = Generator, not WW. It also has a different warranty on the refridge, microwave…etc. There is no “engine” to have issues with…We have had toyhaulers for years and have never really had any warranty issues. We have had Thor, WW, and GearBox.
Come on guys! Your really killin' me here.. I really had to laugh about the mortgage input!!! I am in that business and it just gets really out of hand with people sometimes! They blurt out so much garbage without educating themselves. I wish they would just get the “real” info about the sub-prime meltdown….It cracks me up that they think that was the “BANKS” and not the “wall street investors”…..LIKE ME & YOU that did that! Who do they think were buying up those security’s???? Mortgage backed securities are publically traded and paid well….so US citizens made it happen...if they didn't buy them, there would not have been those mortgages! Do you understand that when the stock market flattened, that many investors moved there money into mortgage backed securities? What are all of you investing in on wall street and your 401k's etc. I know you meant well, but just be educated….Dont believe what you hear in the media..(Do any of you understand where the "value" of our dollar comes into play here?) You can do re-search on other RV manufacturer’s that have gone BK and see what happened to their service and warranty dept’s. Or just call the factory yourself…they may not have an answer for you, as they may not really know yet. The last people they will tell are the dealers! That’s just how it works!
I would never advise someone to spend 40-51 k as the one gentlemen wrote…..but anything you touch in this market has the real risk of BK…. They say that the only ones that will be left standing will be Coachmen, Fleetwood, and those of “that” caliber. Have any of you thought that one of them may pick up WW in some sort of BK buyout or bailout. Heck….WW outsold most of the ones that they were making! It would be silly for them not to…..then they would have the monopoly’s. Anyone else would have to come up with something pretty spectacular to beat them if they owned them all….
Good Luck…and just don’t pay retail. Then you can afford to replace a microwave if you have to!
Wow - Where do you even start with reasoning like that.
Following that line of reasoning: I bought a tank of gas this morning. That makes me a terrorist. :S

Giant help kill WW.
We bought from Giant back in '04 and they sure left us with a bitter aftertaste.
I never wished any of this on WW, but I wouldn't miss Giant.

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

I'm also not totally sure we can totally blame Mark. I have and had many issues with our dealer, as did many others.
I don't hold any of the dealer issues against him.
I've read enough stories here (and had enough of my own personal experiences) to know that (A) 99% of the dealers are either incompetent or unethical and (B) a large percentage of the dealer horror stories posted on this site were due in some part to the inexperience of the customers and their inability to work through the layers of customer service bureaucracy.
I don't hold any of that against Mark. Just the opposite. I've personally seen him bend over backwards to solve problems that were created (or at least exacerbated) by the dealers.
All that notwithstanding, he was the man at the top and I hold him accountable for the quality of the products that went out the door. You can't take people's money and deliver poor quality and expect to stay in business. It's a shame that his attention to quality came so late and coincided with the market downturn.
Hopefully the builders that survive this shakedown will be the strongest and most worthy. Some other companies will emerge as the leaders and I hope that they build good haulers.
